You're invited to join me on this trip to Washington, DC., the 14th group trip that I've organized with friends.
I'm expecting 6 on the trip, but maybe 8 or 9 for parts of the trip. Once you respond that you are coming, I will put you on the spreadsheet and start looking at lodging.
Things you might consider:
- I'm not a travel agent. I just like to travel.
- I don't make any money off of you going. I pay my way...I try not to pay more!
- I enjoy you. Meandering with you will be fun.
- I plan MY trip and if you want to come, I make sure there's a seat on the bus near me, a place at the table where I'm eating, a ticket for you to see what I'm seeing if you want one... and a bed in the hotel or apartment I find.
- My plans are listed...but I've not been there in a long time. They might not happen as planned. They might not be great. You're not forced to go.
- Everyone stays pretty chill and pitches in. We always have a good time. People who aren't chill aren't invited.
- Got an idea? Share it.
- Got a need? Don't go without addressing it. One of us will help you out.
There are no rules. Just expectations.
- We exchange money using Venmo. Download it and learn to use it please.
- Pay your way.
- The cost spreadsheet is an estimate. If I pay for something, you need to Venmo me.
- I'll give you a date that my credit card is due and I'd like you to settle up before then.
- Everyone pays for the same tickets. If you choose not to go, it's ok. However, everyone has the same tickets because it keeps it simpler for me.
- If I have paid a deposit for lodging, please pay your part of it as soon as possible.
- If I tell you to get your airline ticket soon, please do so.
- It doesn't include your food, your partying, tips, taxis, some entry fees, incidentals, (or bail if you do something stupid).
- Documents are non-negotiable!
- Please be sure you have your REAL ID (passport or enhanced Washington driver's license) in hand, and verify that it will be valid until November, 2026.
- It's important not to overpack.
- No one helps you with your bag.
- A 24" bag with 4 spinner wheels is perfect for this trip.
- We will do laundry.
- It's important to be on time. The rest of us can not wait for you... too much.
- Be at the airports 1 1/2 hour early for the flight.
- If you show up to the airport late, your bag may not arrive on time.
- Even when you DO arrive on time, sometimes your bags don't make it. We will handle that as it comes.
- THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT: Do not do anything reckless.
- We have to help you if something happens to you...even if you're doing something risky. Don't drink too much. Don't talk to strangers. Keep an eye on your belongings. Watch what you're doing at all times. Help everyone else do the same.
- THIS IS YOUR TRIP. I'm posting my plans. If you don't want to do what is planned, you don't have to. I can find reasonable alternatives for you if you want. There's so much to do. That being said, if you don't want to do anything that's planned, you might want to pick a different trip. We like sharing our experiences. It's how we have fun.
