Morning: American History Highlights
- 9:00 AM – The Icons of America: Start at the National Museum of American History. Enter through the Constitution Avenue entrance on the 1st floor. Walk straight to the 2nd floor to see the Star-Spangled Banner, the massive flag that inspired the U.S. national anthem. Next, view the First Ladies gowns and The American Presidency exhibit on the same floor.
- 11:15 AM – Pop Culture & Innovation: Move down to the 1st floor. Explore Entertainment Nation to see Dorothy's ruby slippers, Prince's yellow guitar, and Julia Child's kitchen, and so much more. Wrap up the morning by walking through the America on the Move transit exhibition to see a massive steam locomotive and other incredible American transportation exhibits.
Lunch Break
- 12:15 PM – Museum Dining: Head to the Eat at America's Table Café located on the lower level of the American History Museum for a quick lunch, or walk outside to grab lunch from the local food trucks lined up along Constitution Avenue. Afternoon: Wonders of the Museum of Natural History
- 1:15 PM – Gems and Dinosaurs: Walk next door to the National Museum of Natural History. Enter the 1st Floor David H. Koch Hall of Fossils to stand beneath a towering Tyrannosaurus rex. Afterward, head up to the 2nd floor to view the famous, deep-blue Hope Diamond in the Janet Annenberg Hooker Hall of Geology, Gems, and Minerals.
- 3:00 PM – Mammals & Ocean Life: Return to the 1st floor to walk through the Kenneth E. Behring Family Hall of Mammals. Finish your museum touring at the Sant Ocean Hall, which features a life-sized, 45-foot replica of a North Atlantic right whale suspended from the ceiling.
