Do you want to go up the Washington Monument? It's not concrete in the center! There's an elevator and an observation deck at the top. The view is very nice and because they limit the elevator to 30 people every 30 minutes, it's really nice up there. But the trick is getting a ticket.
The Washington Monument tickets for the elevator up are free. That being said, they're not easy to get for free. If you would like to ensure that you go at a convenient time, please buy a ticket through a 3rd party service. I won't be successful getting a free ticket for you, in all likelihood.

When should you go? These times will ensure that you don't miss anything we have planned:
Option 1: 19 Oct 4:00PM We will be finishing up on the National Mall at the Natural History Museum. You can cut your time short there and Uber to the Washington Monument. From there, we can grab you before we do an audio tour and walk of the National Mall monuments, (weather permitting).
Option 2: 21 Oct 4:00PM We will be finishing up on the National Mall at the National Art Gallery. You can cut your time short there and Uber to the Washington Monument. From there, we can grab you before we do an audio tour and walk of the National Mall monuments, (weather permitting).
Option 3: 24 October You can go anytime you can get a ticket. Be aware that I got everyone tickets for 10am for the Holocaust Museum. If you don't want your ticket, it's ok. You paid $1 for it. I've been. Is it worth it? It's transformative. I'll never forget it. You have a ticket if you want it. The day is yours to plan.
